Porosity Control!

I like this stuff. I used this about a week before I did my relaxer, and I was happier with my results. Porosity control is supposed to make sure your hair is balanced.
If your hair:

Can't curl
Take on relaxer or color
Takes relaxer or color too fast
Only feels soft when it's wet

I got this information from Traycee from KISS and I felt like it worked for me. Yay!

Fennimas Jewelry!

I first heard about Fennimas Jewelry when I was on Monif C.'s site (http://www.monifc.com/). The pieces are BOLD, beautiful, and very innovative in my opinion. I was taking a very quick look at their site (http://www.fennimas.com/ - btw I think this site is new, because I remember looking for their site when I first heard of them and I couldn't find it.), and I mean a VERY QUICK look, because the looks are hot but not necessarily cheap. They have 2 collections that I honestly can't remember right now. Vegas Glam and Jungle Love I think... Anywhoo, I liked the Jungle one and I found this perttty necklace. It's called Alize. So... do you like???

Delight yourself in the Lord!

Ok NOW I finally believe I fully realize what it means to delight myself in the Lord! I feel like I love to be in His house (my church); I love to be in His presence; I'm constantly thinking of Him; I spend the day thanking Him and chitchatting with Him for guidance, strength, peace, forgiveness, and whatever else I think of; I try to please Him in everything I do, I love everything about Him; I love the discipline because that lets me know I am His and I am on the path to be with Him when my time on this Earth is over. I strive not to worry and to put my faith in Him! The Lord loves me and I love the Lord!! Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice for me, though I never did, do, or will do anything to deserve it!! O know I have much to learn and a lot of spiritual growing to do, but I couldn't be any happier right now! He is merciful and patient with me, and I know I will get it right one day, otherwise, I wouldn't be this far in the first place. Praise the Lord, Saints! :D

Flat Iron (CHI) take one

Once again, I am sorry some of my pictures are sideways. I think my camera can change it for me, but I need to check, and I already had it in the computer...so...oh well.

So, I CHI'd my hair yesterday (Yes, I bought a CHI!) and I was a little disappointed. First of all, I've never really been good at flat ironing my hair. I think it's because my parts aren't small enough and I am impatient with myself. Second, my middle is just freakin nappier than the rest of my hair-period. It makes no sense, but it's true. I even did a corrective on it and it's still acting up. Third, I am getting closer to my goal (Yay!! Goal videos and blogs coming up soon), but my hair felt soo weighed down and I was very unhappy to see that my ends need to be cut. I am going to do another Flat iron and I will post a vid and blog up when I do.

I hope it doesn't sound like I am complaining... I am really grateful to God that He has strenghtened me to help me get closer to my goals. I know I am in favor! :D

This is kind of an unofficial year end length check, but I'm hoping my Flat Iron take 2 will be better, so that will be the one I use for my Length for the 5 star chick challenge. (The link for the site is on the left hand side of my blog).

My 2nd Braidout!

These are pics of the braidout I did a few days ago. I was going to make a video of it, but my arms looked too fat in the video, lol, so I deleted it. I'm so excited about the length I have obtained and retained and I am quite excited about reaching my goals! (Sorry about the pics being on the side, I will try to fix the pics and hopefully I can edit this blog later.)

Smooth n Shine Therapy: Silk Fusion 60 second Critical Repair REVIEW

Ok, I bought this after trying a little packet of it first. The little packet felt sooo good and it gave my hair slip, moisture, and strength. Let me tell you, I don't what it is, but I hate this stuff now. It makes my hair feel sooo badly damaged when I rinse it off. I can only think of one time that it left my hair feeling like that little package did. LOL, here are some of the reasons why I think this happened:
- I put on too much
-I left it on longer than 60 secs
-I put it on dry hair/ drying hair
-My hair was too healthy for it
Now, I didn't do all these things EVERY time I used this stuff, so I think that the product is just funky itself. I feel like your hair better be sopping wet and it better be damaged at the time, or else it just dries the hair out. It's the "too much of a good thing" theory, where your hair can have too much stuff in it, that it does the opposite of what you wanted it to do. I don't leave it on longer than 60 seconds anymore, but that doesn't matter- it still is being mean to my hair.
Let me tell ya'll the weirdest part- there is GLITTER in this stuff! I'm serious. I saw a bit of glitter in my hair, but didn't think much of it. But then I spilled some of this stuff on my jeans and when I went to wipe it up, there was SO much freaking glitter that I was shocked! I looked into the jar and, sure enough, you can see glitter sparkling. Yep, I WILL NOT purchase this again, and the package of this SAME exact product felt like a different texture than this, so I will stick to the package as needed. :/

Bantu Knots

These are all pictures of Bantu Knot outs. The first picture is the actual bantu knots, and the 2nd pic is a bantu set that was wet and I didn't let it dry all the way. The 3rd is a set that has REALLY tight curls because I left them in overnight. Plus they were really small. The last pic is a bantu set that I only left in for a short time.

Wet Bantu Knot Set!

This is the bantu set that I did wet, and then I took it out while it was still damp:

I have more pictures coming of a dry set, but right now I have this pic to put up. I gotta tell you guys, I like the dry way MUCH better! This one started to look frizzy after awhile. UGH. :X But at least I was cute for a little while! Lol!

Earning Money Online

Hey loved oes! I know I am almost always MIA lately, but trust me, I have some lovely post coming soon for ya, I just have to take pics, and it takes time. I have some yummy before and after pics on the way, but it takes awhile to get to that "after," ya know. LOL. Well, I just wanted to tell you about a site that I have been frequenting calle. Neobux. It's legit and you don't pay anything. All you do is sign up and look at advertisements. You can look at like 4-5 a day and they give you a penny for each. No, it's not a lot of money, but you can get about 14 bucks a year just for looking at ads for like 30 secs each. You can pay to get more privileges, and I'm testing that out to see if it's worth it. SO far it's not. So if you want to try it, go here: https://www.neobux.com/?u=r
and be sure to put awbaby21 referred you.

Good luck huns, and I know it's not a lot of money, but it can add up, and it's legit, and you don't have to pay. Check it out, and then refer people and you can make an extra 1/2 cent. LOL. They are so cheap, but hey! It's something for a little bit of nothing. :D

Sorry!

Sorry guys that I have been MIA for over a week. Let me talk to y'all about some of the things that I have been doing:

- I started using Mederma (the scar gel). I will have some before and after pics coming soon.
- I purchased a exercise dvd over the phone. I'll talk more about it when I get it.
- I have started baggying! my hair is shedding soo much less!
- My internet is cut off, so I have to go to the library :( ...
- But I'm getting a good workout because it's about a mile away and I'm walking
- I have been trying to set up a budget for myself
- and, as usual, I am working on a million and one projects. ;) LOL

I have to take more pictures of myself so that I'll have more starting references, because I have been going into overhaul with my hair, scar, and weight regimens.

TTYL babes, those pics are coming soon!

I liked it!

So, after telling my dad and my brother that I was indeed NOT going to see this movie, I was dragged down there. I saw Star Trek! I was soo ready for a snoozefest. I was wrong! I loooved it and the actors are Kayute to boot!! :D I might go to a convention.. lol.

But anyway, regarding my last post.. I decided to start exercising everyday and I added...(drum roll)..weight training! Shock shock, because I ALWAYS have shied away from those weight machines. I didn't want to bulk up.. however my personal trainer pointed out that if I lost all the weight I wanted to, I would have loose skin if I didn't weight train to build muscle and tone. Uck!! That was all I needed to hear!

Well ya'll pray with/ and for me about this weight loss thing. I really need to do it more for health than vanity. God bless!

Today!

Today is the first day of the rest of my life! (More details later.. :D)

Friday, May 29, 2009

Thank you Jesus!

I am sooo blessed ya'll and you are too! Man,today I was watching something on A&E and it was talking about how this woman killed 2 of her daughters, and finally the 3rd daughter got out and told on the mom about a decade later. The things this girl talked about were HORRIFIC! The mother had locked them in deep freezers before, shot the oldest girl (which is NOT how she died btw), made them eat their own vomit, made her daughters prostitute, and sooo much more! I was crying at multiple points of this story. I was just thanking God for His multiple blessings in my life. We always complain about so many things in our life, like parents and when people are "mean" or "unfair". Well, I believe the majority of us haven't had any experiences like this, so if your reading this and you are thankful that you have been blessed (even if only relatively), then take a moment to give God some praise!

I pray for blessings for all who read this and please pray for blessings for me. :D

My 1st Braidout Post Relaxer

Okay! Sorry that I have been MIA. I was busy trying to job search and stuff, and just get on my grind. I have soo many things I want to talk about with you all but I am going to start with my braidout that I did after I did my post relaxer treatment. What I did was wash my hair with my Pantene Pro V Relaxed n Natural Moisturizing Shampoo, then I used ORS Replenishing Pak (which I figured was a moisturizer and protein) under my hooded dryer for about 15 minutes, and then I followed up with HE Hello Hydration. Then I put on BB Oil Moisturizer, my scalp oils, and some of that scalp oil to seal. I had four sections with hair bands and then I braided each section. Later (or the next day. I don't remember lol) when I took it out, my hair looked like the 2nd and 3rd photo. Then I pinned up a hump and that's how I got my look from the first pic. Enjoy the flics!!

I relaxed!!

Hey you all! I relaxed and these are my FINISHED LOOK pictures. Soooo.. This is what I did (Thank you sooo much Soulie!!):
---Protein treatment (Aphogee 2 min recon) about a week before (You should always dc after protein, but I didn't know! So I ended up....see below)
---Cowash daily until 2 days before relax (paying attention to not bother scalp)
---Put only light products the day of the relax
---Base entire scalp and hairline with vaseline and let sit for about 5-10 mins (I don't remember how long :/)
---Section off hair (about 7 sections). I did it from like the inside (middle) to the hairline, because my middle is soo coarse
---Mix my Revlon Mild Lye Relaxer with AHEVOO (I was using a tinting brush), prayed over my relaxer, and then started applying it. I tried to stay away from my scalp and I had gloves on so I could smooth. I was supposed to smooth last, and I had to keep reminding myself of that. :/
---I kept the relaxer in for about 22 mins, then rinsed with warm water
---I put the Aphogee 2 min recon on for 5 minutes then rinsed with warm water
---I put on my Elasta QP Neutralizing Shampoo for 10 mins UNTOUCHED, then rinsed, then 5 mins UNTOUCHED, then rinsed, then 1 min, then rinsed, then I put it in for the last time and rinsed it right out. This was supposed to be a color indicating neutralizer, but I didn't see any pink.. so I hope it was working.
---Then I used my HE Hello Hydration Shampoo and rinsed
---I used my Aussie 3 min Miracle, put on a shower cap and sat under my Gold n Hot Hooded Dryer for 30 mins, then rinsed
---Finally! I put HE LTR leave in on my ends and then my Bronner Brothers Oil Moisturizer (I mixed Shea Butter oil and Coconut oil in it as well) all over. I put Elasta QP Mango Butter on the edges and brushed them down (I also had Bronner Bros Wrapping Lotion on because I was gonna rollerset)
---I tied my hair down and did my makeup. I just put on black eyeliner, mascara (I use Loreal's Double Extend), and some goldish brown color by Markwins.
A little Vaseline and lipgloss on the lips, take off my scarf, and add my Beverly Johnson ponytail (I am not going to be buying anymore of her products btw! So cheaply made) and I'm off to go! :D
Stay tuned on my youtube or on here to see my follow up treatment. I'm doing that tonight.

Hurricane Chris and Hair Updates

First off let me say, Hurricane Chris looks sooo much better than when he came out. I didn't think he was ugly or anything, and I have always been a fan of his music, but I think he has definitely polished himself up and he looks great! I wanted to put a side by side comparison, but I can't find any new pics on him. I'm going to see if I can find a freeze frame of him in his video (She Fine/ Halle Berry). I was so shocked by how radiant he was! I know that's weird to say about a guy, but it's the truth! He looked great and totally dateable (LOL, yea right... that's happening).

So anyway! On to my hair! I have been using the conditioners of Herbal Essence. I have Break's Over, Long Term Relationship, Hello Hydration, Totally Twisted, None of your Frizziness, and Dangerously Straight. So far the HH, BO, and DS are my favs. I will post pics for you in an upcoming blog bc I have been trying to co wash with all of them and snap photos of the air dried look. Some of the conditioners, though, I used as a leave in and I found that the results are more apparent, but I will talk more about this later.. It's not fun without the pics to show you. :(

So, Idk if I told you guys I bought Avocado Oil. Did I? Well, I bought some at Whole Foods and I had used it as a leave in and I DID NOT like it. So I switched some things around and used it in my scalp oil concoction, which right now consists of: a few drops of Anointed Holy EVOO (Just took some EVOO with me to church and they anointed it), a tiny bit of Elasta QP Mango Butter, and Avocado Oil. There may be traces of Kemi Oyl still in there too. Well, so far it's doing good. My scalp and roots are feeling pretty good, which is the point of this LOL. Honestly, the main reason I use the scalp potion I made, is to moisturize my roots, which is why I add a little Mango Butter. Well, bye for now!

Why I LOVE Patti Stanger

I love me some Patti from the Millionaire Matchmaker! I know a lot of people hate on her because she's not married and because she likes to tell some girls to blow out their hair (like hers), but I think that she is awesome! First of all, I believe it's true that those who can't, teach. A lot of psychiatrist are crazy as they come, some marriage counselors are not married. So, I can't see why people fault her for not being married. Plus, she is just a matchmaker, it can take years of dating to know you want to marry someone. Also, she has admitted that the Millionaires are the ones that tell her they want the ladies to have straight hair. So anyway, let me tell you why Patti's awesome:
-She honestly wants people to find love
-She holds people accountable, rich or not rich (lol)
-She tells the truth
-She's funny
-She gives great meeting and dating advice

I've learned soo much from Patti and that's the main reason why I love her to death. I just watched all her Bravo videos and I have to say, this women's great. I want to pick up her book (Become Your Own Matchmaker), along with Steve Harvey's awesome book (Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man). Mmm, love is in the air!

Haven't been feeling well

Ugh, I have not been feeling the best lately. ANd it doesn't help that everyone is talking about that dang swine flu. But I've already claimed in Jesus' name that I don't have that. I've been drinking plenty of liquids like Oj and Aj, but hot tea is by far my fav. It just soothes my throat and adding lemon adds an extra kick to my immune system. I'm not a big tea drinker though, unless I'm sick. The main reason why that is, is because I don't like to have to doctor it all up. Making it sweet and all. There IS  a such thing as too sweet with tea (eww, it taste so gross when it's too sweet!) and I usually overly sweeten it. :/

Anyway, I wanted to talk about baggying because I said that I would. Baggying, for those that don't know, is a way to put some extra moisture in your hair. You have put conditioner and oils and put them all over your head and then put a plastic cap on. Or you put some condish and oils (and whatever else you like) in a plastic baggy and put it over the ends of your hair. Your hair should be in a ponytail if you do this. To learn more about baggying, check out these sites:

Leaving in Conditioner

Ever since we were little kids we have all been taught to wash out our shampoos and conditioners. It's true, but what about people that deliberately put conditioner on their hair, knowing they are not going to rinse it out? What do you know! I am now one of those people! I first heard about leaving on conditioner when I was watching a Baggying video on Youtube. (I will speak on Baggying in my next blog.) Now a days, I've been mixing oils like EVOO and Kemi Oyl to my Organix Coconut Milk, Suave Humectant, or my Cabellina horse conditioner, and just putting it in my hair. So far the Organix has performed the best. What I do is:  Spritz my hair with my water/glycerin mix, getting it nice and damp. Then I usually put my scalp concoction on (which at the moment is Mango Butter and different oils) and I massage that into my scalp. Then I put my conditioner on (that already has the oil mixed in), and I put LTR (Herbal Essences Long Term Relationship) and/or carrot oil and/or carrot creme on my ends. Then, when it's a little bit drier, I comb a littler or just gently pull my hair so that it won't be matted, and I put it in a high or low ponytail and I bun up! Now be sure that you don't let conditioner from a co wash sit on your scalp, because that just seems to cause itchiness. You have to make sure that the scalp isn't getting the conditioner, which is why I put my scalp mixture on first. But what doesn't work for me, may work for you, so keep that in mind. I do this usually in the day and at the time, I don't really know for sure if I'll co wash at night. I have done it before and after a co wash, and it seemed fine. I'm sure it'll be a dream before r after a shampoo. So far I only do this like twice a week, and twice a day for those two days. Get it? LOL, well until next time! And I should have a video of me doing this if I don't already. Just go to my Youtube using the link on the left. :D

Chardonnay of Love!!

I loooooove Chardonnay from the Love of Ray J! I think she was the realest girl on that show besides Danger and I think she is the realest chick on all these love shows besides Deelishis! I'm telling ya'll- there should be a Chardonnay of Love! I would watch that! I mean, come on, they gave Daisy her own show. I like Daisy and all, but they should give this girl a show. Lemme know if ya'll would watch that, and I will get together a letter for vh1. Also, I made a video of it on Youtube, so ya'll can watch that. It'll be up as soon as my lazy butt gets to it. LOL :D

Mott's New 100% Juices- Just eat the fruit!

When I first saw these juices, I was really excited, because, let's face it, there just aren't that many 100% juice drinks out there. So I bought the Fruit Medley kind and upon my first sip, I thought that this juice was great! Then I tasted a few more sips and realized that it started to dehydrate me IMMEDIATELY. I have been drinking strictly water and this super sugary drink was definitely doing a number on my mouth. I was so shocked to see that the 14 fl oz drink had a WHOPPING 54g of sugar!! I went home and saw that my brother's Monster Energy Drink had 16 fl oz for the same amount of sugar, and that's most likely because it's an energy drink. A 8 fl oz can of Pepsi has 28g of sugar! Now let's move on to the calories. This drink has 230 calories! I was shocked!!! I can have 2 cans of Pepsi and still not have as much calories as this drink! Now before anyone thinks I don't know anything about anything, this is just purely my opinion here. I know that fruit does have a lot of sugar and I haven't done that much research on how many calories are in fruit, but I honestly don't think these drinks are the way to go. I love the taste, I love the fact that there is no sugar added, and I love the fact that there is 100% juice. I'm not trying to say that this drink is a total bust, I'm just saying that I wouldn't want to drink that much calories and sugar, when I can eat a piece of fruit and down some water. Oh! and check out my resources:

Boys on the Brain!

OMGosh, I am so boy crazy!! Do you ever feel like that? Or girl crazy? I mean, I have boys on the brain 24/7. I am working on it though, by the grace of God. I am trying not to read into things too much, like the other day, this guy said I had a pretty smile. Not 5 minutes later was I thinking about what kind of husband he would be! Not even 5 minutes later ya'll! It's a mess... Well, anywho, I haven't been on here in almost a month, and I apologize for that, but I have just been working on my favoritest thing ever- ME! I have a lot of goals and I definitely will share those with you guys in my next blog. But everything is coming along nicely and I am sooo grateful. The Lord keeps blessing me, and I keep falling short of His glory. I have a lot of things I want to talk to ya'll about so please keep checking out my blog or follow it. I am definitely going to make it a point to be on here more often, so just keep checking me out. Ok, I post something again real soon.

Where's all the boys?! Let me STOP.. ;D

Today's Regimen

Today, it is a protein day.

So, I'm gonna co wash my hair with my Suave Humectant and protein treatment with my Aphogee 2 min reconstructor. After that-when it's all wet, I'm gonna spritz my leave in concoction, which consist of drinking water, glycerin, and some leave in from Smooth n Shine. Once that's all spritz in, I will add some HE long term relationship to mainly my ends (but a little all over). I will add some to my scalp at some point, and then when my hair is a pretty much dry (from air drying), I will add my BB Oil Moisturizer and seal with Jojoba oil. That's gonna be it. Right now my hair is in braids, making it easier for me to throw on a wig and give my hair a break, so I don't have to worry about anything else, but wrapping it up. :D And when I say braids, I don't mean like stylish braids. It's just braids in a beehive style, like the kind that are under a full head weave. Well, that's about it for now. Bye, loves!
